Battle Tested Worship
In our Scripture reading (Genesis 22:1-19) we find Abraham in the test of his life. He had failed during previous tests and God was once again wanting to see what he was really made of. It has been said untested faith is really untrustworthy faith. God wants to see what our faith is going to do when the wind blows contrary to us. When the storms of life come our worship has a deeper meaning, it takes on an entirely different dynamic, because that's when we begin to offer up the sacrifice of praise!
The Midas Touch
As we continue to look at the life and times of Abraham we see that he was really a fairly ordinary man. What made him extraordinary was his faith and desire to honor and serve God. If we can learn anything from Abraham would be to allow our life to be a conduit of God's purpose. Abraham was so blessed because he allowed the favor of God on his life to spread to all those around him, seemingly everything he touched turned to gold.
