The High Price for low Living
Pastor Jensen continues the study of Isaac and his family. We will see from this study that all kinds of trouble plagued Isaac and Rebekah because they failed to follow God's will. Pastor encourages us to make God's will the highest priority in your family. Four lessons that will help us do that is to realize that (1) we always reap what we sow, (2) you cannot derail the ultimate purpose of God, (3) Godly ends do not justify ungodly means, and lastly the way to find your life is to lose it for the sake of Jesus Christ.
Selfies have become a means of self expression in our culture, but they may also portray a symptom of a deeper problem. They can make some people derive their sense of self-worth by the number of likes and comments they receive, but Jesus wants more for us. He wants to shape our identity and help us develop, model, and live out a "sacred selfie." This was Paul's ambition in his letter to the Ephesians. He wanted these growing Christians to experience the fulness of God.
Beware of Bad Trades
Life is a repetitive process of trading one thing for another. Those things can be self centered or they can be God centered. Every day we are trading these things for something, what are you trading you time and abilities for?
